Update - 3 Weeks
Its been a few days since Iv'e had an update, Iv'e been extremely busy with work, meetings, Allie and a family wedding. Its been a two weeks. I had a three day weekend for a family wedding and I didn't stick to my routine. It was kinda hard to with wedding food around and staying in a a hotel. I definitely felt the difference when I got home. I felt bloated and sluggish. In the past, when I started a "diet" and strayed away from it a bit I got frustrated and I would just quit. Not this time, I got back on my routine Monday morning.
Phentermine update: I can feel that my body is getting used to it and my hunger is coming back a little but I've managed to control it so I'm still happy with it.
Shaun T: I love Shaun T and I just ordered Hip Hip Abs :) I drip of sweat when I use his workout DVD's. Allie has gotten tired of Shaun T though so I workout when she goes to sleep at night.
Shakeology: I still replace it with lunch (on the weekdays) and I still love it, I am ready for this stash to be gone so I can try new flavors.
Oh and I weighed myself yesterday and I have lost a total of 10lbs. I was kind of disappointed with the amount I lost but I just have to keep reminding myself "one pound at a time". I am no where near where I want to be but I can feel a difference in my body.
Here is a before and after picture. Again, no where near where I want to be, but I can see a difference. A tiny difference.

One Week Update
So, today marks one week on Phentermine, using Shakeology and working out with Shaun T.
I have lost a whopping 6 lbs in one week.
The pills help with my appetite, but again, they are not miracle pills. I am still watching what I'm eating and working out everyday at night. It is hard to ignore those cravings for carbs and fried foods but the Shakeology helps with cravings as well as the Phentermine. Anyone that is considering taking the Phentermine, do not expect it to do all the work. Phentermine is a short term option ONLY. It is not good for you, or your heart. So that's why you really need to commit to a life style change while you are on the Phentermine so when you get taken off of it, you wont gain all of the weight back.
I am very happy with my results and I cant wait to do another weigh in next week :)

Then & Now
So, just to give an idea of what I used to look like before the weight gain and what I look like after.
Before weight gain 140-150 lbs 2012?
After the weight gain (Allie is 1 here) 200 lbs
What I want
Sometimes I get the feeling that people wonder "why is her weight making her so depressed?" or sometimes I get the "your not even that big" comment. Sometimes I don't even know why my weight makes me depressed, there are plenty of people out there that are perfectly happy with being over weight and it doesn't bother them. I guess the only way I can explain is it that I don't feel like ME.
Before the weight gain, I was flirty, fun, confident, sporty, outgoing and funny oh, I was also hot. I loved the beach and being in a bikini and that's who I was. Being a mom changes people, for the better and I love being a mommy to my beautiful daughter but I also let the pregnancy change me in ways that were negative, the weight gain. Its not the fact that pregnancy made me fat. I made me fat. I didn't work hard enough or stay focused on what i was eating and how much I was eating plus I didn't exercise at all. Weight gain + post-partum depression put me in a really bad place. One day I will make a post about my how my pregnancy + labor & delivery caused post-partum.
Anyways, so this is what I want..
- To wear a bikini and feel comfortable in it.
- To wear a size 7 in jeans.
- To be able to wear a tight dress and feel sexy.
- To make love with Ryne without keeping my shirt on.
- To be able to cuddle on the couch and not feel humongous.
- To to do yoga the RIGHT way
- To just wear a tank top and shorts without rolls and fat spilling everywhere.
- To be able to wear skinny jeans without feeling extremely bloated and uncomfortable.
- To go down a bra size so my boobs don't hurt.
- To go to out in public without constantly thinking about how big I look.
- To be able to go to the dressing room and try on clothes without crying.
- To be able to put on an outfit and say "yea I look good"
- To be able to play with Allie outside without getting all sweaty and out of breath.
- To learn how to paddle board.
- To be able to set an example of "feeling good in your own skin" to Allie.
- To be positive.
- To be able to wear anything at all while being comfortable at the same time.
- I want Ryne to be able to pick me up and swing me around without feeling like hes going to hurt himself.
- To wear sexy underwear.
- To walk into Victoria Secret and be able to find something that fits me.
- To not look in the mirror and feel disgusting.
- I want the "holy shit you got hot".
- I want my body to be the sexiest outfit I own.
- To get my belly button pierced and it actually look good.
- I want to feel good in my skin and I want to love myself.
- Most of all, I want to be healthy.
There is so much more to "I just want to be skinny"

How am I going to loose the weight?
After trying so many different ways to loose weight including just the normal eat healthy and exercise strategy, I decided to try the combination of Shakeology, Phentermine and Workout DVD's. Being a mom that works full time I DO NOT have time to plan all my meals out, to make them ahead of time, to measure out my food and to always make my meals with fresh ingredients .
- Shakeology – I replace my lunch with Shakeology because lunch is the time I crave junk food the most because I’m at work and its easy to just go through a drive through. I usually make my Shakeology the night before, its really simple and I do it while dinner is cooking. I use a magic bullet, put all my ingredients in (I will share recipes later) and then I freeze it and take it the next morning, put it on my desk to thaw and then its ready for lunch.
- Phentermine – I will probably get a lot of negative feed back for using Phentermine but my doctor and I have discussed the negatives and positives and I’m being really careful about the way I use it. I take a half in the morning when I wake up 7:00am and then I take the other half at work a few hours later 10:00 or 11:00. I do this because its a 37.5 tablet and I am a little uneasy about how my body will react if I take all at once and I also want it to last all day instead of it wearing off at 5 and I get the munchies.
- Workout DVD’s – I use workout DVD’s at home because I would rather work out at home with my family (my daughter tries to dance with me) then to take time out of spending with my daughter to go to the gym or exercise classes. I like it this way. Right now I’m using Shaun T’s Rockin Body workout and I really enjoy it (Allie likes it too).
Now, I have only been using this combination for a few days and so far I am happy with it. The Shakeology makes me full and its delicious and so healthy for you, the Phentermine curbs my appetite and cravings and it tricks my mind into thinking I’m full and the workout DVD’s make me sweat but i’m still at home with my family. One bad thing about the Phentermine is that it keeps me up at night. I had a really hard time falling asleep and staying asleep last night and I hope this subsides. I will keep posting my thoughts, how my body feels and my weight loss. I haven’t lost any yet obviously because its only been a few days. I will post pictures soon.

Who am I?
Hello,
My name is Shelby, I’m a mother of a 1 1/2 year old named Allie, She is my world. I also work full time (a desk/cubicle 8-5 job). Since my daughter was born I have been struggling on being happy with myself. I am more than happy with being a mommy and being with my significant other (Ryne) but I gained 60 pounds during my pregnancy and it destroyed me. Not to mention I was also dealing with post-partum depression. My weight strapped me down. I didn't want to do anything, or go anywhere when, before the weight gain I was going to the beach and I had no problem with going out in public. After struggling with loosing weight, going off and on diets, working out and then not working out, a year and a half later I decided to change. This blog is how I’m going to log my struggle to change and how I’m going to do it and succeed. My determination is stronger than ever.
